First off, I made a ZOMBIE VIDEO! It’s the first thing I’ve ever written, directed, and produced.
Although uncertainty and trepidation are tagging along behind me, I hope to continue to be led by my desire for creativity and inspiration.
As you can see, I have an eclectic taste in what I find touching and amusing, but I hope somewhere in the array of what I share, you’ll find something that you like.
Welcome to my little corner of the world. I hope you’ll stay a while and share this new journey with me.

Do you ever have one of those moments where you want to serenade your dog with her own theme song?
It’s so cold and snowy that even BooBoo doesn’t want to venture too far outside today.
Hubby’s exotic beers for the month. He gets 2 of each of these flavors. The UPS guy even offered BooBoo a treat, although she sniffed at it and walked away.
A minute later she gingerly took it out of his hand and walked back into the house and downstairs with her goodie. If you look closely you can see her in the reflection of the mirror. No doubt she is nostalgically remembering her treat and wishing she had more.
Our daughter wanted some pictures of BooBoo as a puppy to have with her in college. While looking through pictures tonight, I came across the top one and then realized that I had a recent one very similar to the first.
The first picture was the day we brought her home from the breeders back in March 2003. She was only 9 weeks old and was sick with parasites and feeling very sad. The second picture is almost 10 years later and once again her daddy is taking care of her after her surgery for a torn acl.
Some things never change, and that’s a good thing.
Ahnna and BooBoo coming back from the vet. Don’t they looks so cute together?
Although in hindsight, maybe I should have just let Ahnna keep her eyes on the road.
Our poor puppy came home today. Her surgery was yesterday and the vet said it went well. Now she has about 3 months recovery time where we will have to monitor her activity to make sure she doesn’t over-exert herself. That’s for the leg, at least. They also had to re-suture her extra eyelid on the one eye, plus she still has a giant blood spot on the other eye where an ulcer is trying to heal.
Looking at her, you’d think she was abused. Someone could probably take pictures of her and put them on billboards or something but I swear she did these to herself! The vet said that she has injuries similar to a farm dog. We don’t exactly live on a farm, but we do live on 5 acres. During the nicer months she’s known to tear out after a squirrel or deer or bird or bunny or turkey (she’s done that twice now). I suppose she won’t be allowed to do that anymore. The injuries also didn’t happen all at once. I think she’s had the eye ulcer for months now but due to a low thyroid it’s taking forever to heal. The extra eyelid she’s pretty much had since we got her as a puppy, and we think the torn acl happened recently, which is why it was crucial to get her leg repaired before arthritis and other debilitating side-affects set in.
Anyway, I have a feeling that it will all be better now and she can be good as new after a few months. Although there are no wires in her, she does now have titanium in her leg so we may just have to start calling her “Bionic Booboo” or the “$6000 Dollar Corgi” or something.
My niece, who will turn 4 at the end of December, called me today to thank me for her Christmas presents. This is probably the first conversation I’ve ever had with her. One of her questions was if we had snow where we lived. “We sure do!”, I replied. Then I added, “In fact, we have so much snow that it’s higher than BooBoo.” Since she lives in Seattle, I decided to send her a picture for proof.
BooBoo was not amused.
BooBooo gets her own Christmas present every year and has a blast trying to open it. This year was a pretty large chewy bone. It’s been 2 hours and she’s still in the same spot and chewing like crazy.
She has to have leg surgery for a torn ACL on Thursday, but sometimes it’s good to be the BooBoo.
